Our approach to care.
Whole-person care that meets you where you are. Therapy and psychiatry under one roof, grounded in warmth and collaboration, with a clinician matched to what you actually bring in. Same-week first appointments, in person at three Seattle-area offices or by secure video statewide.
Care rooted in warmth, collaboration and curiosity.
We honor each person's story and support their growth across the emotional, physical and spiritual parts of life. The goal is for you to feel seen, supported and empowered, and to move toward a happier and more fulfilling life.
That whole-person view is built into where we come from. Counseling Services for Wellbeing was co-founded by Issy Kleiman, LMFT, our Clinical Director, together with Dr. Yael Kantor, a chiropractor whose work centers on whole-body health. Their two backgrounds shaped a practice that supports the whole person rather than treating a single symptom.
Six things that shape how we work.
Not a single method, but a set of commitments that hold true no matter who you are or what you are bringing in.
Whole-person and integrative
We look at the whole picture, not one symptom in isolation. Care is individualized and creative, building on the strengths, relationships and support you already have rather than starting from what is wrong.
Therapy and psychiatry under one roof
Talk therapy and psychiatric medication management live in the same practice. When both are part of the work, your clinicians coordinate care directly, so you are not the one carrying messages between two offices.
Evidence-based and relational
We draw on approaches with real research behind them, and we deliver them inside a relationship built on trust. The method matters, and so does feeling understood by the person sitting across from you.
Matched to a real fit
You are paired with a clinician whose training and approach actually fit what you are bringing in, not just the next open slot. If the fit is not right, we help you find a better one.
Senior clinical supervision built in
Senior clinical supervision runs across the team through a multi-year training and supervision program led by our Clinical Director, Issy Kleiman, LMFT, an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor with more than 27 years in the field.
Culturally responsive and affirming
Care that gets who you are. We work to be culturally responsive and affirming, so your identity and context are welcome in the room rather than something to set aside.
From first call to ongoing work.
You shouldn't have to wait weeks just to be seen by someone who actually gets it. Here is how care usually unfolds.
Reach out
Call us or send a short request. Share your insurance and what you are looking for. No long form, and we confirm your coverage before your first visit.
Matched to the right clinician
We pair you with a clinician whose training and approach fit what you are bringing in, whether that is therapy, psychiatry or both working together.
Your first session
Your first appointment is typically the same week. It is a comfortable, supportive conversation about what brought you in and what you are hoping for, in person or by secure video.
Ongoing collaborative work
From there the work is collaborative and paced for you. Self-awareness, self-acceptance and changing habits are goals that sometimes take time, and we build on your strengths as we go.
Evidence-based approaches, matched to you.
We are trained in a range of approaches and choose the ones that fit what you are working on. Many clients use elements of more than one.
CBT
A practical, structured way to work on the thoughts and habits that keep a hard feeling stuck.
EMDR
A research-backed approach for trauma and the memories that still carry a charge, available with trained clinicians on the team.
DBT
Concrete skills for intense emotions and relationships, for when a feeling is too big to think through.
Gottman Method
A structured, research-based approach for couples who keep having the same fight.
IFS
Internal Family Systems work, getting to know the different parts of yourself and how they protect you.
Somatic therapy
Body-aware work for the stress and trauma that live below words, designed to support nervous-system regulation.
Care that starts this week.
Most first appointments are available the same week, in person at our Green Lake, Burien or Smokey Point offices, or by secure video anywhere in Washington. We accept most major insurance plans and confirm exactly what your plan covers before your first visit.
A few questions about how we work
What is your approach to care?
We take a whole-person, integrative approach that supports growth across the emotional, physical and spiritual parts of a person's life. Therapy and psychiatry live under one roof, the work is evidence-based and relational, and you are matched with a clinician whose training and approach fit what you bring in. First appointments are typically available the same week.
Do therapy and psychiatry work together here?
Yes. Talk therapy and psychiatric medication management are part of the same practice, so when both are part of the work your clinicians can coordinate care directly rather than leaving you to carry messages between two offices.
How are clients matched with a clinician?
We pair you with a clinician whose training and approach actually fit what you are bringing in, rather than the next open slot. If the fit is not right, we will help you find a better one.
What kind of insurance do you accept?
We accept most major insurance plans, including Kaiser, Premera, Regence, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare and Cigna. We confirm your specific coverage before your first visit so you know what to expect rather than guessing.
Ready to start? We can meet this week.
