My Education
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) (LH61513248) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) (#1586367) licensed in the state of Washington. I got my Master of Science in Counseling specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Washington University in June of 2022. Prior to this, I received my BS in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Washington State University in 2019.
My Approach
I align with the idea of helping people gain insight by investigating their feelings, thoughts, emotions, and physical obstacles to help them obtain the most self-actualized version of themselves. The counseling process should examine and gain insight into the person and their environment and explore what could help them reach their personal health goals and well-being. I hope to work together to navigate and discover ways to manage and care for your concerns and presenting issue(s) in a meaningful and compassionate way toward your experience. My therapeutic modalities include Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I tend to use different aspects of these modalities to best suit the person in front of me, as even “common” anxiety/depression can look different in every person.
My Experience
I have gained knowledge and experience with various populations from my work in counseling/psychological services within colleges, private group practice, and crisis response services for Eastern Washington residents. I have worked extensively with people who identify as LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, low-income, polyamorous/ethical non-monogamous/non-traditional relationship dynamics, Kink/BDSM community, varying risk and severities of mental illnesses, different cultural backgrounds, and the intersectionality between those aspects. I take a special interest in topics and conversations relating to cultural diversity, competence, and education and/or experience of those different from me and those I interact with on a day-to-day basis.
I’ve been able to help folks with various concerns like self-esteem issues, suicidality, depression, anxiety, sexual dysfunction/addiction, grief/loss, stress management, and boundary/attachment work. Supporting people in navigating some of the most personal, daunting, and complicated periods and circumstances of their lives has been a life-changing experience and a privilege to witness.
