Hello! My name is James (they/them). I work holistically, emphasizing mind, heart, and body balance. I can assist you in the understanding of your own complex internal worlds, relational dynamics, work sagas, or developmental and inter-generational trauma. You can disrupt unwanted patterns and improve communication in your relationships and expressions via diverse interventions from a synthesis of modalities and practices, and we will practice these skills together. You are the expert in your experience, and I will support you in trusting and loving yourself. With curiosity and compassion, therapy can empower you and help you gain more from life.
My specialties include couple repair, sexual concerns, LGBTQ+ and non-traditional relational dynamics, parent coaching of young children, teenager support, loss/grief, and individuals diagnosed with ADHD. Whether you are looking for clarity and more resilience or simply comfort, I am committed to my role as your heart-centered healer. I have a Master of Arts in Couples and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle and am currently a Licensed Associate Therapist (License Number 61469463).
I have experience with serving people in many different crisis and suffering scenarios. I have completed a 33-hr. Paraprofessional Intimate Partner Violence & Anti-Oppression training with Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Non-Violence. I have worked with couples in IPV via first responder support and court advocacy, as well as couples seeking reproductive support. Additionally, I have supported at-risk teens who have endured justice system trauma and/or houseless-ness. Lastly, I worked as a preschool teacher for close to four years and have studied Childhood & Adult Development extensively.
Prior to focusing on mental and emotional health as my profession, I worked as an artist and curator. I received a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. My Bachelor’s degree is in Humanistic & Transpersonal Psychology from Naropa University, with a minor in Contemplative Education.
