Hello and welcome to Counseling Services for Wellbeing. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have experience treating adults on an inpatient, residential, and outreach basis and have worked with patients experiencing a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and addiction.

Background

Before embarking on a career in psychiatric care I received a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and spent 8 years on Active-Duty in the United States Army. I am originally from Pennsylvania but have lived all across the United States, Europe, and various other locations abroad exposing me to a myriad of people and cultures. After leaving the army I wanted to continue a career of service in healthcare. I received my Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Approach

I strive to work with clients to develop a plan for treatment that meets their needs and fits their values. I use goal oriented, evidence-based approaches to achieve the highest level of patient care. I believe in thorough evaluations and follow-up visits where clients have the time to understand treatment rationales and can participate collaboratively in their care. I take a holistic approach to consider how mental health fits into an individual’s total wellness. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and joining them wherever they are on their mental health journey. As medication is just a piece of the puzzle, I always encourage clients to engage in therapy and other modes of healing and self-improvement.
