Education and Experience
I am an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I received my Master of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University. My training in both community and private practice settings has equipped me to perform psychiatric assessments, diagnose, and prescribe as well as manage medications. While earning my Nurse Practitioner credentials, I worked as a Registered Nurse in an inpatient medical setting, broadening my perspective and experience in treating the body as a whole. Prior to my graduate level nursing education, I attended Pepperdine University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
Approach
My comprehensive education and vocational experiences working with individuals on their physical and psychological health have taught me the importance of a holistic treatment approach. I encourage healthy lifestyle choices and habits to complement pharmacological treatment. I work collaboratively with each client, listening to their needs, and partnering with them to achieve optimal mental health, while recognizing my client’s natural strengths in the process of making healthy changes. It is my job to present clients with the variable treatment options available and allow them to make informed decisions, as they feel ready. I am honored to walk alongside my clients with the challenges they encounter.
Clients have shared how they appreciate my empathetic, warm, and non-judgmental approach. It is my goal to come alongside individuals in their health journey. I strive to create an environment where individuals feel safe, heard, and empowered to take the next steps. One of the bravest things we can do for ourselves is ask for help and support. In doing so, you will be met with compassionate care and myself as your advocate.
