I am a dedicated therapist who provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and experiences. I structure therapy sessions to help you navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and develop coping strategies to live a fulfilling life. I seek to empower individuals one session at a time. I provide tailored guidance and support to help you overcome challenges, set achievable goals, and cultivate a positive mindset.
I offer therapy services for individuals, couples, and families. I see clients aged 8-years-old and up.
Background
While serving as a public-school teacher for several years, I was touched by the lives I interacted with regarding children, their parents, and families. I loved my role as a public-school teacher; yet, while teaching, I discovered that I also enjoyed counseling. During my time as a teacher, I had a part-time job as a behavioral assistant for a community-based agency. Although I was not a therapist at that time, I realized that my work involved having conversations with families about how they could enhance their lives. Therefore, I completed a master’s degree in professional counseling with an Emphasis in Trauma.
One of my main goals is striving to create a life in which I have peace and happiness in the midst of any circumstance. Although every day is not perfect, I try to make the best out of every situation. I embrace the things that make me happy such as drawing closer in my relationship with God, spending time with family, exercising, reading books and articles, journaling, painting, sewing, swimming, biking, and cooking. I also love to have quiet moments to create a space for self-reflection and improvement.
Approach
Through specialized training and ongoing professional development, I stay updated with the latest therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices.
My approach to clinical therapy is a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). My holistic approach integrates various therapeutic modalities to address the interconnected aspects of an individual’s well-being. I combine evidence-based practices with a compassionate and non-judgmental attitude.
I have a Christian faith perspective; yet religiosity and spirituality will only be discussed at the level with which you request and wish to include it in therapy.
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and unsatisfied is a feeling that a lot of people experience. Sometimes, life circumstances can bury our strength to overcome what we are facing. Buried strength makes it appear that there is no hope and potential to prevail. Choose counseling services with me so you can find your inner strength to bloom.
