I have over 15 years of experience working with children, couples, and families. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was a substitute teacher, elderly caregiver, parent advocate, foster child advocate, family find specialist, and social work case manager. I have a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.
We are relational beings who experience a wide range of emotions and have an innate desire to avoid discomfort and live abundant lives. I use mindfulness, holistic, and strength-based systems approaches, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Solutional Focused Brief Therapy, Family Systems, Emotionally Focused, Narrative, and Person-Centered.
I view therapy as a safe and compassionate space to explore yourself, your potential, your relationships, and to create deep, long-term positive change in your life. I believe everyone has the capacity in themselves to be able to create the life they want. My style as a therapist is as a guide to help you overcome and face the transitions and challenges in life. I aim to tailor sessions to each client’s individual needs and goals.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children from all cultural, ethnic, spiritual, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
