Hello! My name is Jaqueline. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), and a Board-Certified Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP-C). I have 12+ years of healthcare experience in treating from children to older adults. I currently offer psychiatric care for adults from the ages 18 to 65. I also speak Spanish and Portuguese.

Background

I received my original nursing degree in 2010 and practiced as a bedside nurse for six years before pursing an advanced practice career. I graduated in March 2016 from South University with my master’s degree in Family Nurse Practitioner and became board certified as a FNP in June 2016. I graduated in June 2019 from Drexel University with a post-master’s in Emergency Nurse Practitioner and became an ENP board certified in February 2020. I graduated in May 2022 from Liberty University with a post-master’s degree in psychiatry in became a board certified as a PMHNP in August 2022.

Approach

I truly believe that one’s body and mind are connected. An unhealthy mind can lead to a sick body, and a diseased body can lead to psychological illnesses. It is important for patients to have a healthy mind and body in order to better cope with all aspects of their life such as daily challenges including their health, social, personal and spiritual areas.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I have the opportunity to utilize my medical background when assessing and treating patients and recognize when they need mental health care. There is still a significant amount of stigma related to mental health care where people still think that mental health problems do not exist, and by being able to acknowledge when a patient needs mental health care, I am able to provide an empathic and holistic care for individuals with mental health conditions. It will be an honor to help you with your mental health needs and I look forward to be part of your mental health care journey.
